jockeying for political advantages
Since the Korean War was fought for political standards, both sides wanted to get more advantages for political reasons. People and soldiers back home hoped that the war would end with all these negotiations going on, but they were wrong. Neither side wanted to forfeit.
Implications
The nations were separated on their beliefs of communism. While some countries were conquering other countries to spread the idea, others were trying to prevent communism. This is one of the key reasons why the war took place.
