The United States and its fellow members of the United Nations who participated in the Korean War met their objective of stopping communist incursion into the Republic of Korea(South Korea) and reestablished the border. The People's Army kept the United Nations Command from holding territory belonging to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea(North Korea). In truth it appears that the losers of the war were the two Koreas, but more so the Democratic People's Republic of Korea(North Korea) who failed to meet its goal to drive capitalist forces out of the oppressed Republic of Korea and welcome their southern brothers and sisters into the peace-loving embrace of Kim Il Sung's communist North Korea.
The resolution was an armistice signed on July 27, 1953. It was signed by the US, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the People's Republic of China. The Republic of Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea signed a non-aggression treaty in 1991, but technically the war has never ended.

implications
The resolution helped the South Korea and North Korea come to an agreement. Even if they still don't have good relations to this day, there is no more war. It did help stop the spread of communism to South Korea and surrounding countries and the US and UN did its best to help. The UN stopped the Korean War because of the spread of communism and attack of nuclear weapons, so they saved millions of lives.
